Yesterday was an exciting day in front of Ylang Ylang. There were many fish right out front, so some of the local fisherman ran out to our beach to do some fishing. The local way of fishing in Costa Rica, is with the fishing line looped around and held on by hand. Most do not use fishing poles.
There were also a number of little sardines that washed up on the beach making for perfect bait for the fishermen to use. The local fishermen climbed up on the rocks and used the sardines as bait. They pulled out a number of different types of fish including Jack Crevalle and Pacific Mackerel.
Even our staff got in on the fun! A number of them collected sardines to use for their own fishing later and had some fun in the process!
