For activities we hiked to a nearby waterfall, went horseback riding on the beach, rented an ATV for 1/2 a day, and took a Yoga class. We arranged each of these through the front desk. If you’re looking for adventure, I would absolutely recommend renting an ATV for an afternoon.
We were recommended many tours that you can sign up for straight at the resort and they were AWESOME!!! I definitely recommend the nature tour with Eduardo for some jungle excitement and the zip line tour :)
We took advantage of the affordable adventures including ziplining, snorkeling at Tortuga island and the wildlife preserve. (though we saw nearly every animal at Ylang Ylang!) I fully recommend Ylang Ylang for families, lovers, singles! You will love it!
