The sun provides the earth with an abundant source of readily available energy, and energy is crucial to humanity’s survival. The concerns of climate change, increased carbon footprints, exhausting the world’s non-renewable energy sources, and the effects on the environment and ecological systems requires a shift in energy production in order to achieve long term benefits on a global scale.
Conservation Efforts
Incorporating solar power generation into the essential services of day to day living provides clean and renewable energy sources. The Ecotourism industry, especially in Costa Rica, wants to be part of the change and believes in minimizing wasteful energy sources in order to mitigate local forms of pollution.
At Ylang Ylang Beach Resort, we are devoted to conservation measures. As part of our efforts to use sustainable energy sources, we have created a solar panel garden that converts enough electricity from the sun’s energy to supply most of the resort’s electrical needs.
Reduced Carbon Footprint
Costa Rica is home to a thriving rainforest and one of the world’s most productive ecosystems with immense biodiversity. However, over the last century much has been lost. At Ylang Ylang, we want to help offset some of this impact by ensuring our conservation efforts are minimizing the loss of rainforest and reducing our carbon footprint. We carefully monitor the amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) through special readouts that track the CO2 we have saved.
Environmental Contribution
We are proud of the efforts we are making through Ylang Ylang Beach Resort’s solar panel garden. It is our small way of contributing to the planet’s need for sustainable and renewable energy sources and to ecotourism in Costa Rica.
