Playa Grande Costa Rica is a long, expansive beach located about 20 minutes walking distance from Ylang Ylang. To get to Playa Grande, you walk through numerous jungle trails and beaches. You will cross a couple of small rivers, climb up and down some rocks and emerge at a beautiful long stretch of deserted beach. There are no building on Playa Grande and usually very few people. Early in the morning is the best time to find yourself on the beach alone.
Playa Grande also has long rolling waves and shallow water. It is perfect for swimming, boogie boarding and learning to surf. Playa Grande is also a private refuge, meaning that it cannot be built on or camped on and must stay preserved. Bring a hammock, towel, sunscreen, water, and snacks to enjoy your day here!
