Over the last week, we have had our first rains of the season. This means that we are at the end of our dry season and the beginning of our green season! For the next few months, it will rain off and on. Some days more than others and some days not at all. In addition to your regular packing list, here’s a list of important items for you to be prepared for the rainy season when you pack for Costa Rica:
-Umbrella
-Rain Poncho
-Lightweight Rain Coat/Windbreaker
-Extra Batteries (With rainy season storms, the electricity is not as reliable)
-Battery operated alarm clock
-Flashlight with extra batteries
-Sandals that can get wet
-Lightweight and waterproof hiking shoes
-Lightweight clothing that dries quickly
-Waterproof cases for your phone, camera or other valuables
-Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (even though it’s the rainy season, the sun is still strong and powerful!)
-Insect repellent
-Anti-Itch Cream
-Water bottle
The green/rainy season in Montezuma is a beautiful time to be here. It is not as hot, there is less dust, the trees and plants are lush and green, and Montezuma is not as crowded with tourists. The rain storms in Costa Rica are truly something special to experience.The list of items above is to help make your trip more comfortable when the weather is not as predictable.
