Located just beyond Ylang Ylang Beach Resort is a beautiful relaxing river, with swimming pools, small falls, and cool water called Piedra Colorada River. This river offers a perfect spot to relax, enjoy the sun, and swim to cool down. This is also a great location for kids! The shallow water is perfect for children to explore and play. If you climb a ways up the rocks, you will find small, secluded pools of water and big rocks to sit on and climb. Set up your own hammock in the trees, or bring a towel to sit on. It is a perfect way to add to your relaxing vacation.
A tradition was started many years ago to create rock sculptures out of the stones. Depending on the time of year, you will see hundreds of rock sculptures left behind by people passing by. The rocks at Piedra Colorada have incredible vibrant colors and therefore make for beautiful colorful sculptures. Make one of your own and see how tall you can pile the stones without them toppling over!
